Roll On- Portable and flexible conveyor belts

About the Idea

Thousands of tons of Pulses stored in Food Corporation of India(FCI) are not loaded to the trucks due to labor shortage. Trucks are standing there for days together.
The shortage of labors and time consuming task is causing huge losses throughout India.

Our vision is to provide material transporting solutions to targeted business environments in the major cities and industrial hubs of India right from retailers and distributors to Railways and the Food Corporation of India through innovative products.

We developed a portable and flexible roller conveyor belt which could prevent labor shortages. The product is a portable set of electrically driven rollers which can take any curvature from warehouses to trucks and vice versa. This can be rolled inside a portable chamber which is used to store it when not in use. The rollers can also transport goods even upto a certain height through some inclination. Goods placed at one end is automatically transported to the other.

The product features are:
a) It is portable and compact in size
b) It can be disassembled
c) It can be bent
d) It can transport goods to a certain height
e) It is light in weight
f) It uses a rechargeable battery
g) It can be expanded when need occurs.

It is useful for example in a factory or warehouse or in the loading and unloading of goods to and from and on and off the vehicle eliminating or reducing labor requirements. Above mentioned proposition is unique in nature. Our team has developed a proto-type of the model for a shorter range transportation.

Our aim is to develop a full commercially scalable model with automation. We are working to bring touch screen interfaces and more customer friendliness into our product.

How do you plan to utilize the grant

If we were to receive this grant, this grant will be a highly motivating factor to move ahead with our idea. The grant will help us develop our fully commercialized automated portable and flexible conveyor belts. Moreover, we can start reaching our customers and display them the working model.

Who will this help Rise

In metros like Kolkata, we can see a huge number of laborers used to transport goods to and fro from the warehouses especially for the dealers and distributors.
Our product is a low cost innovative model which saves thousands of money than the cost of labor.
Our idea will benefit the ones dealing with transfer of packed goods in cartons or sacks:
a) Air fresheners/deodorants
b) Baby and child care
c) Beverage products
d) Batteries
e) Personal Care Products
f) Fabrics and apparel
g) Leather & Allied Product Manufacturing
h) Snacks and biscuits
i) Small appliances
j) Medicines
k) Paper products
l) Mobiles and watches
m) Food products
n) Petrochemicals
o) Dairy products
p) cement production
q) Plastics & rubber products
r) Pet Product manufacturing
s) Eyewear Manufacturing
t) Chemical Manufacturing
u) Agriculture,grains and pulses
v) Paint production
w) Automobiles
x) Mining Industry
RAILWAYS ,FCI and Retail market chains like Big Bazaar will be majorly benefited.

How will this help them Rise?

This idea will improve working efficiency of the dealers, distributors,Railways and Food Corporation of India by eliminating the dependency on labors, reducing labor cost and burden of finding labors, decreasing the time taken to load and unload goods drastically.

For instance, Trucks which are in queue to be loaded can have this product within their vehicle. From source of goods to the trucks and vice versa, operations is quite easy and efficient. Charged batteries power the motion of rollers to transfer goods.

Idea Milestones

This Idea will aim to help 5000 dealers in Kolkata with the solution that we have provided. This will be done within the next 10 months. Eventually, we hope to roll this out across all of India.
